Ms. Shi Yunwen holds a Master of Laws degree (with a focus on Intellectual Property) from East China University of Political Science and Law. She serves as an expert member of the China Television Drama Production Industry Association, a member of the China Film and Television Legal Expert Talent Pool, and a founding member of the Game Industry Law Committee of the Beijing Film and Entertainment Law Society.
Ms. Shi specializes in legal services for the pan-entertainment, internet, and intellectual property sectors. She has provided legal counsel to well-known platforms, institutions, leading enterprises, and industry organizations, including Youku, Ele.me, Bilibili, Alibaba Music, Shanghai Jiao Tong University–University of Southern California Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry, the World Expo Museum, the China Television Drama Production Industry Association, the Capital Radio and Television Program Production Association, Wanda Group, and Publicis Groupe (a Fortune Global 500 multinational company). She has also provided legal services to prominent artists and directors in these industries.
Ms. Shi has advised on nearly forty high-profile film and television projects as well as variety shows, including but not limited to the films Youth and Hidden Man, the TV dramas Mr. Right and Oh My General, and variety shows such as Chef Nic (produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV) and Beyond the Hero (jointly produced by Tencent Video and Dragon TV).
Ms. Shi is deeply involved in project and corporate financing, investment promotion, and operations. She assists clients in designing deal structures and transaction plans and represents them in on-site negotiations and other legal and business matters. Notably, she helped Wenlan Culture (the talent agency of well-known artist Yang Chaoyue) complete a merger and acquisition transaction with the Hong Kong-listed company Transmit Entertainment.
Ms. Shi also provides legal services related to licensing, compliance, copyright transactions, and rights protection for well-known gaming companies, esports clubs, and streamers. She has advised on international esports events such as the Nanyang DOTA2 Championships.
Ms. Shi has represented numerous intellectual property and entertainment/internet sector cases, including pioneering cases related to fake online reviews, deep-linking infringement, and short-video copyright infringement. She also represented a major livestreaming platform in litigation over a streamer’s breach of contract, setting a breakthrough precedent in Shanghai with the highest damages awarded under similar conditions.
