Privacy Policy

1. Core Policy – Applies to All Visitors

Kingtham Law LLP (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.

We may collect limited, non-personal information (such as domain names, IP addresses, browser type, and access times) for statistical analysis and site improvement. This data does not identify individual users.

 

We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it—such as when contacting us, subscribing to a newsletter, or requesting materials. Information you provide is used solely for the purposes stated at the time of collection and will not be sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants you specific rights:

 

  • Right to Know what personal information we collect, use, or disclose.

  • Right to Delete personal information collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Right to Correct inaccuracies in your personal data.

  • Right to Opt-Out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (note: Kingtham Law LLP does not sell personal information).

  • Right to Non-Discrimination for exercising these rights.

3. European Union

If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, we process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

 

  • Lawful Basis: We process personal data only when necessary for legitimate business purposes, legal obligations, contractual performance, or with your consent.

  • Your Rights:

     

    • Access your data and obtain a copy.

    • Request correction or deletion.

    • Restrict or object to processing.

    • Data portability.

    • Withdraw consent at any time.

     

  • International Transfers: If your data is transferred outside the EU/UK, we will ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

4. People’s Republic of China 

If you are located in Mainland China, we handle your personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL):

 

  • Purpose Limitation: We collect and use personal information only for specified, explicit, and reasonable purposes, and to the minimum extent necessary.

  • Data Subject Rights: You have the right to access, correct, delete, and withdraw consent for the use of your personal information.

  • Cross-Border Transfers: If we transfer your personal information outside China, we will obtain your separate consent and ensure compliance with PIPL transfer requirements.

  • Sensitive Personal Information: We will obtain your explicit consent before collecting or processing sensitive data.

5. Hong Kong SAR, P.R.China

If you are located in Hong Kong, we comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO):

 

  • Data Collection Principles: We collect only data necessary for the stated purposes and ensure it is accurate and up to date.

  • Data Access & Correction Rights: You may request access to or correction of your personal data we hold.

  • Use of Data: Personal data will not be used for purposes other than those stated at the time of collection, unless with your consent or as permitted by law.
